Our team is grounded in experience and a track record of invention—realized. They have scaled technology businesses, fueled the adoption of new products among consumers, engaged people in their health online, and opened new markets by giving people information and tools to guide their health choices.

But our people are also grounded in the realities of what it means to push the bounds of science. They know biotech, omics, AI and data mining. They understand the complexity of molecular biology, what AI can and can’t do, and what it’s really like for people who live with and treat disease.

    Dr. Jun Wang,Founder and CEO of iCarbonX. Dr. Wang earned a bachelor’s degree in artificial intelligence and a Ph.D. in bioinformatics from Peking University. In 1999, Dr. Wang co-founded BGI, which is now widely recognized as one of world’s premier research facilities committed to excellence in genome sciences. During this time, Dr. Wang managed three rounds of fundraising (about 1B$ in total), and acquired a U.S. public company, Complete Genomics. He was recognized with numerous awards and nominations, such as His Royal Highness Prince Foundation, and “Fortune’s 40 under 40” by Fortune Magazine (2013) and Highly Cited Researchers 2015” by Thomson Reuters.
    Yingrui Li,is the Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of iCarbonX. In 2004, Mr. Li enrolled in the Biology Department at Peking University; two years later, he interned at BGI Tech and started his career in genome science. In 2012, he was named as the CEO of BGI Tech, then in 2014 the chief scientist of BGI. Mr. Li has published more than a hundred papers in reputable scientific journals such as Science, Nature and Genome Research and has been recognized on the "Forbes 30 under 30 Asia" list.
    Hao Li,is the Co-Founder and CIO of iCarbonX. With 15 years’ working experience in the telecommunications field, Mr. Li served as the Director of the Business Planning Division of Market China Netcom and the team leader of global IPO business group, China Netcom. Mr. Li was the Deputy Commander of the Olympic Marketing Headquarters during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. He joined Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI) in early 2014 and acted as Assistant to the President, Director of the Business Operations Center, and Director of Internet Center. Before joining iCarbonX, he was the CIO of BGI, overseeing BGI information construction and big data operation management.
    Fan Zhang,is Chief Operating Officer and Chief Human Officer of iCarbonX. Prior to joining iCarbonX, Mr. Zhang worked for a range of companies including Huawei, Mindray, Xunlei and SinoHealth, primarily in human resources management. He has more than 10 years of experience in senior corporate management positions including system establishment and organization development.
    Cindy Yang,Chief Investment Officer of iCarbonX. Ms. Yang is also the founder of Athenee Capital and a Venture Partner at Qiming Ventures (a leading VC fund with US$3bn AUM, focusing on TMT and healthcare). She has both led and participated in landmark deals investment such as Xiaomi (mobile platform), Wacai (fintech), Mogujie (social commerce), VIP abc (education), and Hairun (entertainment). Ms. Yang spent over ten years at Microsoft US and China, managing departments from technology, business development to Asia Strategic Fund with government and research institutions. She has earned several degrees from Peking University and the University of Washington.
    Phenix Qin,SVP of iCarbonX. Mr. Qin has 13 years of experience in healthcare and investment consulting. He served as Industry Principal for Healthcare and Life Sciences for SAP Greater China for seven years, and drove its private equity wing in healthcare, where he led large scale transformation programs for organizations in the health industries including Wuhan Asia Heart Hospital Group, Mindray, Guangzhou Pharma, Tasly, Bybo Dental and Cardinal Health. Before SAP he worked for the standardization consortia in China’s Ministry of Health, and HealtheCare Group in Australia on personal health records and collaborative interventions for rehab, maternity and sports care.
    Yeeton Liu,is Vice President of iCarbonX. A graduate of Kookmin University’s interaction design master’s program and doctorate program in service design, he taught industrial design at Xi 'an Jiaotong University, and has hosted more than 100 interdisciplinary R&D products/projects for leading international enterprises in Shanghai. Named one of China’s best young designers, Yeeton Liu has received many international design awards, including the Red Dot Award, the IF design award, the Osaka, and the Red Star Design Award. 
    Yameng Liu,is Vice President of iCarbonX. He has more than 12 years of experience in the IT and Internet industries, and spent more than nine of those years with Tencent. His project experience ranges from Internet value-added service products to mobile games, and includes the building of large-scale, mass user and high concurrency distributed systems.
    Jian Wang, PhD,is Deputy Dean of iCarbonX Research. Dr. Wang graduated from the Division of Medical Sciences of Harvard Medical School, where she also received her postdoctoral training in the school’s Department of Genetics. Her research focuses on delineating the mechanism of age-associated diseases, such as cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, and her team is dedicated to exploring the gene editing and immunotherapy technologies in cancer therapeutics. Before joining iCarbonX, Dr. Wang established and directed the Genome Editing Platform at China National GeneBank, BGI.
